2-port EtherNet/IP -> ModBUS RTU/ASCII/TCP-IP gateway & protocol converter, dual Ethernet
SENECA offers three Ethernet/IP gateway variants that differ in form factor and number of Ethernet ports. The Z-KEY-2ETH Ethernet/IP model is designed to simplify network communications between Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP devices and EtherNet/IP networks. This gateway takes on the main function of acting as a Modbus master to acquire and exchange data with EtherNet/IP devices.
Concretely, the R-KEY-LT converts Modbus data into EtherNet/IP packets, enabling an EtherNet/IP scanner to control or monitor Modbus devices. In detail, the Ethernet/IP gateway works as ModBUS Master devices on the serial side and Ethernet/IP adapters on the Ethernet side. Modbus requests, such as read or write commands, are configured directly on the devices, automatically generating an EDS file. Once this file is imported into the PLC development software, all configured I/O will be accessible without further configuration. In addition, up to 3 Modbus TCP-IP servers can be connected in addition to the serial devices.
