Electronic Overcurrent Protection

In any electrical circuit, there is always a risk of faults, short circuits or overloads occurring. Faults in any electrical circuit can be dangerous and may result in costly fault finding, as well as downtime and repairs.

To avoid faults causing damage and harm, a system must be protected to ensure that the load is disconnected quickly from the circuit when a hazardous condition is detected.

Although fuses and miniature circuit breakers (MCB’s) are the norm for circuit protection, they do not cater as effectively for DC faults leading to an increased risk of failure or damage on the output side of a DC power supply.

E-T-A Circuit Protectors are specifically designed to protect DC loads by providing a quick and reliable detection of faults that would normally cause the switched mode power supply to trip out and drop the whole circuit.

Compact and flexible solution

E-T-A’s DC Circuit protectors are designed to offer selective overcurrent protection of DC load systems by detecting overload or short circuit conditions far quicker than the switch mode power supply can and where the fault is not sufficient trip the protective MCB.

This means that faulty loads can be isolated without the whole circuit being disconnected and the fault can be quickly and easily identified by simply locating the tripped E-T-A Circuit Protector.

The uptime of machines and systems are effectively increased by the protection from the DC circuit protectors ensuring superior machine availability.

REX12 – Industry 4.0 Ready Current Limitation System

Available in standard fixed and adjustable current ratings from 1 A – 10 A in single and double channel options, the REX12 circuit protector is suited to applications such as process control, machine and panel building.

Simply by pressing a button directly on the device the current rating can be adjusted to allow a single protector to be configured for a wide range of protective loads.

With integrated field bus options, connecting your load to your factory management system or gathering data from the E-T-A protector for analysis is built into the solution.

The compact width of only 12.5mm allows the REX12 to be mounted on to a rail with up to 16 other protectors thanks to its modular design. Mounting is tool less and snap-on via DIN rail connection for ease and time saving.

ESX10 – Active Current Limitation

The ESX10 electronic circuit protectors are able to protect DC load circuits with current ratings of up to 25A, making it suitable for many applications including, automation, car production, machine construction, renewable energy and more.

ESX10 ensures superior machine availability and efficiency due to the electronic trip curve with active current limitation, responding much faster than the power supply and preventing any voltage dips.

In the event of a failure, the multicolour LED changes colour to indicate a status change, allowing operators to quickly respond to the alert and provide the maintenance needed in turn reducing downtime. Mounting is tool less and snap-on via DIN rail connection for ease and time saving
